AUDIOLOGY AND SPEECH-LANGUAGE ROLL CALL PRESENT Anne Eckert, Nancy Schneider, Hilda Pressman, Kathlyn Conlon-Pignio, Granville Brady and Gerard Caracciolo. ABSENT Anne M. Mazzu and Louis Conte. ALSO PRESENT Renee P. Clark, Executive Director Sonia Claudino, Administrative Staff Marianne Greenwald, DAG CALL TO ORDER The regular bimonthly meeting of the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Committee was called to order at 124 Halsey Street at 10:00 a.m., all members having been notified of the time, date and place, and materials pertinent hereto having been provided. SUNSHINE LAW In compliance with Chapter 231 the Public Law of 1975, notice of this meeting was given to the Trenton Times, the Star Ledger, the Courier-Post and the Record. I APPROVAL OF MINUTES May 8, 2008 A motion was made by Gerard Caracciolo to accept the minutes with minor changes, seconded by Granville Brady. The motion carried by unanimous vote. II CERUMEN MANAGEMENT Chair directed that Regulatory Analyst, Charles Manning provide a final copy of cerumen management document for Committee review. This matter has been tabled to the next Committee meeting. III DISCUSSION a. A subcommittee consisting of Granville Brady, Anne Eckert and Nancy Schneider was created to meet before the September meeting to gather information regarding the feasability of licensing Dispensing Audiologists in the State of New Jersey. IV APPLICATION PACKET REVIEW a. Temporary license application b. Regular license application c. Licensed in another state license application Chair directed staff to make changes to the above applications and to amend individual memorandums for each application. V APPLICATION REVIEW a. Sarah Haszko is applying for a Temporary license. After review the Committee approved Ms. Haszko’s Speech-Language Pathology license. The motion was made by Hilda Pressman, seconded by Gerard Caracciolo. The motion carried by unanimous vote. VI OLD BUSINESS a. Kathleen H. Palatucci-This matter has been tabled pending letter and further information from Committee member Hilda Pressman. VII FYI a. Assembly No. 846- A motion was made by Gerard Caracciolo, seconded by Nancy Schneider to oppose assembly bill No. 846. The motion carried by unanimous vote. b. NCSB Elections 2008-A motion was made by Gerard Caracciolo, seconded by Granville Brady to vote for Lisa O’Connor for President, and for Board of Directors Larry Molt, Lori Smith and Theresa Rodgers. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Nancy Schneider made a motion to proceed to Executive Session, seconded by Gerard Caracciolo, to consider and review, applications, consumer complaints and other information received pursuant to the Committee’s investigative authority in order to determine whether violations of law, including Committee regulations, have occurred. The results of these deliberations will be made known when, and if, the Committee determines to initiate disciplinary or other enforcement actions. If the Committee chooses to issue a Uniform Penalty Letter, the action will be taken in Public Session immediately after the Executive Session.
