Proposed Regulation – Board of Medical Examiners; Electrologists Advisory Committee

NEWARK – The Board of Medical Examiners, in consultation with the Electrologists Advisory Committee, has proposed amendments, a repeal, and new rules governing electrologists, electrology instructors, and electrologists’ office premises.

The proposed amendments, repeal, and new rules implement new laws and update the rules with best practices. This includes changes concerning renewal, reinstatement, and, where applicable, reactivation of electrologist, electrology instructor, and office premises licenses as well as specific instructions for hand sanitizing.  The changes also clarify the process for cleaning and packaging instruments.

The proposed regulation, and information on how to submit a comment by November 19, 2021 can be viewed here.
