Proposed Regulation – Board of Medical Examiners
NEWARK – The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments to regulations regarding the delegation of the administration of subcutaneous injections to certified medical assistants. The proposal recognizes that a 330-hour program adequately prepares a certified medical assistant to administer injections as directed by a physician. It also would permit a physician to direct a certified medical assistant to perform venipuncture and establishes training requirements for certified medical assistants who will perform venipuncture The proposed amendments, and information on how to submit a comment by January 5, 2018, can be viewed
