Proposed Regulation – State Board of Social Work Examiners

NEWARK – The Board of Social Work Examiners has proposed new rules regarding abandonment of applications for licensure.

The proposal establishes standards as to when the Board may consider an application for licensure or certification abandoned. Under the proposed new rules, any application that is not completed within one year of the first notice to the applicant detailing application deficiencies will be deemed abandoned.

The proposal also contains a provision that would deem an application for licensure or certification abandoned if the applicant has not submitted any documentation to the Board in furtherance of their application since January 1, 2018.

The proposed new rules and information on how to submit a comment can be viewed here. The deadline for public comments is May 6, 2022.
