Proposed Regulation – Division of Consumer Affairs

NEWARK – The Board of Examiners of Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors has proposed amendments and new rules that will allow for the licensure and regulation of master hearth specialists.

P.L. 2019, c. 260, created the Licensed Master Hearth Specialist Advisory Committee under the Board.  The Act allows for the licensure and regulation of licensed master hearth specialists.  Under the proposed amendments and new rules, applicants who complete education, examination, and experience requirements will be eligible to obtain licensure as master hearth specialists. Licensed master hearth specialists will be able to install, repair, maintain, and service hearth product appliances, barbecue appliances, outdoor patio appliances, and decorative space heater appliances.

The proposed amendments and new rules, and information on how to submit a comment by December 17, 2021, can be viewed here.
