NEWARK – The Division of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments to regulations regarding fees charged by towing companies and the immobilization of vehicles.

This proposal would permit towing companies to charge storages fees for tows authorized by law enforcement and to charge municipally approved fees. The proposal also establishes that the Division will regulate booting of vehicles, which is placing devices on vehicles which immobilize them, and installing obstruction devices on windshields.
