APPLICATIONS MUST be completely and neatly typewritten or printed with signature and photograph provided. Also, a copy of your high school diploma or equivalency certificate must be submitted.
If application is not of sufficient size to furnish the desired information, a supplemental sheet of the same size may be typed and enclosed with the application.
Item #20: Give a detailed account of experience in electrical construction and installations, giving dates, employer and your duties for a minimum of the past five years.
Applicant may submit proof of completion of a four-year apprenticeship program approved by both a Federal agency and a Federally certified state agency recognized by the Board and at least one year of hands-on experience acceptable to the Board. Anyone with a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering will require two years practical experience in the electrical construction field. Copy of Degree must be forwarded to this office.
Work Experience Certification forms are to be filled out by as many employers as necessary to show five or more years electrical experience. Return forms to this office with application and fee. No application for examination can be reviewed unless required experience is defined by date, work details and the work experience certification forms properly executed. Application must be accompanied by the prescribed fee in the amount of $100.00 in the form of a
certified check or money order made payable to the STATE OF NEW JERSEY.
ALL APPLICATIONS must be
SIGNED AND NOTARIZED.
No application will be reviewed unless all information has been forwarded to the Board by the applicant
which includes the work experience certification forms signed and sealed by employers
Computer-based examinations will be administered by PSI Services, LLC.
If your application is approved by the Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors to take the ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS LICENSING EXAMINATION administered by PSI Services, LLC in the state of New Jersey, you will be notified by this Board. This notification will be accompanied by the appropriate Candidate Information Bulletin which includes instructions for registering for the licensing examination.
