Both the temporary emergency graduate licensure (“TEGL”) programs (created by
DCA-AO-2020-05/DCA-W-2020-09) and the temporary certification for alcohol and drug counselor (“ADC”) interns (created by
DCA-AO-2020-13/DCA-W-2020-12) will remain in place until further notice. See
COVID-19 Emergency Graduate Licensure (njconsumeraffairs.gov) for additional information about the TEGL programs. There is no expiration date for either program at this time. However, the Division’s “
License Verification System” requires an expiration date for all licenses. For that reason, the Division assigns an expiration date for TEGL licenses and temporary ADC certifications for purposes of the License Verification System and extends the expiration date at the appropriate time. The extension is generally granted for several months to ensure sufficient time for notice to be provided to all participants in the event the administrative order that created the program is rescinded. At this time, however, both programs—and the temporary licenses issued pursuant to them—will remain in effect until further notice.
