Instead, please email the socialwork@dca.njoag.gov with your question and allow 7-10 business days for your query to be investigated and a response provided. x Alert At its May 8, 2024 Board meeting, the Board passed a motion that confirms the interpretation of regulations 13:44G-8.1(b)(2) and 13:44G-8.1(b)(3) (i) are: Clinical supervision shall be rendered by a clinical social worker licensed by this State (“LCSW”). It is required that a NJ Licensed LCSW clinical supervisor must have also been a clinically licensed social worker for a minimum of three years. It is not required that the LCSW clinical supervisor have been licensed at the clinical level for all three years in New Jersey specifically. x Alert During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board waived N.J.A.C. 13:44G-8.1(b)(1)(v) to the extent that it required in-person supervision of Licensed Social Workers (LSWs). At its May 8, 2024 meeting, the Board passed a motion to extend its waiver of the required in-person clinical supervision for LSWs who began their clinical supervision at any point during the period from March 13, 2020 through April 1, 2024. All supervision hours for those LSWs who began their supervision during this period may take place virtually. This waiver does not need to be requested. It will be applied to individuals who began their clinical supervision during the period between March 13, 2020 and April 1, 2024.
