NEWARK – The Board of Psychological Examiners has proposed amendments to regulations governing licensing examination requirements for psychologists in New Jersey.   

Existing regulations require applicants for licensure to pass a jurisprudence examination administered in-person by the Board. This proposal would replace the in-person jurisprudence examination with an on-line jurisprudence examination. The on-line examination could be completed at any time after an applicant has demonstrated that he or she has met all of the other licensure requirements, significantly cutting down on the time it takes to obtain a license because applicants will no longer need to wait to take the examination.  The Board also proposes to require licensees to complete the on-line jurisprudence examination as part of continuing education requirements.
