Proposed Regulation – Board of Nursing

NEWARK – The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments to the licensure and certification requirements for nurses.

The proposal clarifies that the alternative to discipline surcharge must be submitted to the Board when registered professional nurses and licensed practical nurses renew licensure. The proposal also recognizes that completion of a doctoral degree meets the educational requirements for certification as an advanced practice nurse.

The proposed regulation, and information on how to submit a comment by August 5, 2016, can be viewed here.
