Proposed Regulation – Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners

NEWARK – The Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners has proposed a new rule regarding standards for veterinary students performing veterinary services.

The proposed new rule requires a licensed veterinarian who is supervising a student to notify the Board and to maintain documentation as to the assignment from the student's qualified instructor. A licensed veterinarian will also be required to notify animal owners that a student who is providing services is not licensed to provide veterinary services.

The proposed amendments, and information on how to submit a comment by August 16, 2019, can be viewed here.
