Proposed Regulation – Board of Nursing
NEWARK – The Board of Nursing has proposed a new rule which permits advanced practice nurses (APNs) to dispense narcotic drugs for maintenance treatment or detoxification treatment. The proposal implements P.L. 2017, c. 341 which permits APNs to dispense narcotic drugs for maintenance or detoxification treatment if they meet the training and registration requirements of 21 U.S.C. §823.
