Proposed Regulation – Board of Medical Examiners


NEWARK – The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments to regulations regarding dispensing of drugs by licensed physicians.      

A licensed physician is prohibited from dispensing more than a seven-day supply of a drug. P.L. 2015, c. 296 provides an exemption to this prohibition if the drug dispensed is a food concentrate, food extract, vitamin, mineral, herb, enzyme, amino acid, tissue or cell salt, glandular extract, neutraceutical, botanical, homeopathic remedy, or other nutritional supplement. This proposal effectuates P.L. 2015, c. 296.
