Consistent with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:4-9.1, electronic notice is herein provided that the New Jersey Acupuncture Examining Board will hold an Open Monthly Board Meeting on May 1, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Notice has been provided to the Secretary of State, the Star Ledger, the Atlantic City Press, the Courier Post, the Star Ledger and the Trenton Times via mail and email. The meeting is being conducted electronically only. A copy of the agenda for the meeting, to the extent presently known, is accessible by clicking the “meetings” tab on the left side of the Board’s homepage and then clicking “view agenda”. The Acupuncture Examining Board, which falls under the supervision of the State Board of Medical Examiners, is responsible for the regulation of acupuncturists, supervisors of acupuncturist training programs, and acupuncturist trainees.

The purpose of the Board is to:

  • protect the health, safety and welfare of the people of New Jersey;
  • regulate the practice of acupuncture; and
  • ensure that acupuncture is performed in compliance with State law.

The Board protects the public by:

  • making sure that acupuncturists meet all educational requirements for licensure;
  • investigating and prosecuting acupuncturists who have broken the state's consumer protection laws; and
  • requiring all acupuncturists to be licensed by the state and to renew their licenses every two years.
