The Hearing Aid Dispensers Examining Committee, which falls under the supervision of the
State Board of Medical Examiners, is responsible for the regulation of hearing aid dispensers and hearing aid dispenser trainees.
The purpose of the Committee is to:
- protect the health, safety and welfare of the people of New Jersey;
- regulate the practice of
Hearing Aid Dispensing; and
- ensure that
Hearing Aid Dispensing is performed in compliance with State law.
The Committee protects the public by:
- ensuring that
Hearing Aid Dispensers meet all educational requirements for licensure;
- investigating and prosecuting
Hearing Aid Dispensers who have broken the state's consumer protection laws; and
- requiring all
Hearing Aid Dispensers to meet the standards for licensure and renew their licenses every two years.
